Our Story Starts With Our People
We have a history of challenging the status quo
Founded in 1967, Sanford C. Bernstein started as a private securities firm under the name of its founder, an industry icon and contrarian pioneer. Under his vision, Bernstein grew into one of the largest independent investment managers and to this day is synonymous with exemplary research. Through the years, amid the complexity and chaos of Wall Street, our aim has always been to guide clients to steadier ground.

Using Our Platform
Promoting Literacy
Our local office hosted a virtual book drive as part of a mutual aid event in partnership with the Free Library of Philadelphia. The team donated or bought books for the library which were then shipped directly and distributed at the event.
Fueling the Frontlines
Offices across the nation showed their appreciation to those on the front lines—including hospitals, homeless shelters, food banks, crisis centers and foster homes—by sending over 5,000 meals from local restaurants in support of those impacted by Covid-19.
Bringing Joy to Seniors
Sometimes small gestures like a handwritten note is all it takes to remind seniors that they’re not alone. That’s the message that over 300 AB volunteers sent to residents of eldercare facilities. Our remote project brought joy and connection to those isolated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Using Our Platform
Nonprofits and foundations—and those who fund them—play an essential role in the recovery. That’s why we hosted several live events showcasing leaders from social services and the arts—two sectors severely impacted by the downturn. These organizations had the chance to pitch their stories to potential donors while offering survival tips to their peers.
